Ireland Scores Twice in International Television Awards Contest
Niall Toibin and Aine Ni Mhuiri have won the CFT Excellence Awards for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Television Series for their performances in the final season of Ballykissangel. The ever witty Toibin was quoted as saying “While not winning might help revive my flagging humility, I feel that can wait. What the world needs now is proof that I am God’s gift to television entertainment. Let us pray.”
Evidently the awards committee agreed that Ballykissangel was indeed God’s gift to television. (article by Coy Parsley
